Shocked… My initial thoughts on a personal hygiene issue I found myself starting to go through almost immediately after the birth of my daughter. Imagine going thirty one years of not having to worry about any armpit odor no matter how much of a workout you endured. After all my research of pregnancy, both prenatal and postnatal, how was this a mystery to me? At the time I was breast-feading and had just delivered my daughter. Of course I thought about increasing my daily hygiene practices, still applying deodorant most days as routinely as possible, easy enough to do right? That is until one morning waking up postpartum discovering a foul smell coming from my armpit, I could not believe it. I was showering daily even twice when I could.
After a couple months, I could not take it anymore. I made an appointment with my dermatologist but to my dismay, I was not satisfied with the answer I received. The Doctor pretty much stated it was just part of my hormones adjusting to all the changes from pregnancy and breastfeeding. I was a bit disappointed since I figured maybe there was a magic pill. I started to educate myself more about hormones and how they affect the body.
Generally speaking, hormones control the growth, development, and metabolism of the body; the electrolyte composition of bodily fluids; and reproduction.
To me, I read it in a way that maybe I can control/help what I put in my body so I started to read more about natural supplements to take because for the most part, I eat well-maintained meals but do have take-outs and snacks at night. I am only human right?
